3 ways to show your mum you love her, without breaking the bank!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and if like me, you’re a little bit of a last-minute Larry, then I have 3 top tips for your Mother’s Day this year. If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know I will do anything for a bit of peace, calm and space, so these Mother’s Day tips should be right up your street too and are budget-friendly to boot.

We're all strapped for cash right now, as most of it is going on the increasing costs of energy bills, food, petrol, and in our case, childcare costs, so I thought this short guide to showing your mama's some love this Mother's Day might be helpful to you. So here you go...

1. Go for a walk together in nature.

You could head into the woods or forest and gain some space, deep breathe in the fresh air, and calm your nervous system right down, all the while getting into lovely conversations and gaining some delightful human connection. Or even if it’s just your local park, spending some time together outdoors can be a bloody gorgeous way of spending time together, and the open air, clusters of trees and wildlife will do wonders for your mental health.

2. Cook her a delicious meal.

It could be your favourite dish, her speciality, or something brand new that neither of you has tried before. Whatever it is, food brings us all together and she will truly appreciate the time and effort you put into making a meal for her. A little more expensive than the first Mother’s Day idea, as you will need to purchase ingredients, but you choose the difficulty of the recipe, keep in mind that the offer and chance to spend time with you will be the most important thing to your mama.

3. Make her a handmade gift.

Handmade really says it all, doesn't it? We can put so much thought and love into a handmade gift, something that really doesn’t come with grabbing something off the shelf in a local, big chain supermarket. It could be a beautiful bouquet of dried flowers, go retro with a mixtape of her favourite songs, or click the button below and give this Liz Earle Shower Steamer recipe a try for something a little different.

If you’re not good with words, scribble down your appreciation with a Right Hand House botanical Mother’s Day card.
